Solvent based on methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) TAN
The complex ether-alcohol solvent Prof-2 is utilized for dissolving oil paints, bitumen substances, and pentaphthalic paints. It also serves as a technical cleaner for removing oil contamination from fiberglass surfaces, awning fabrics, vinyl, and metal surfaces. Additionally, it is employed to eliminate petroleum residues in gasoline pipelines, oil pipelines, and gasoline pumps.
Methyl tert-butyl ether (structural formula: (CH3)3COCH3) is used as a high-octane, oxygen-containing component of the aliphatic type in the production of unleaded, environmentally friendly gasoline. Furthermore, it is an excellent solvent that enhances the selectivity of purification and dewaxing processes for oil-containing petroleum products. It also improves the emulsifying ability and raises the melting point of solid residues.
